Our client was founded in 1974 and is the largest sailing and water sports company with over 800 yachts in 30 locations worldwide including The Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Pacific, Australia and the Indian Ocean.
They have the most modern feet in the industry and offer a wide range of water-based holidays including flotilla holidays, bareboat or skippered yacht charter, water sports club holidays, sailing schools, corporate and hospitality events.
They are now recruiting Skippers both Flotilla and Bareboat for the 2013 season operating out of Croatia, to Skipper yachts around the Mediterranean.
The positions are contract for 8 months, April to November.
The Skipper plays an essential role in both bare boat and flotilla holidays. From ensuring that customers are fully briefed on the procedures of both the boats and the holidays, the Skipper ensures that the clients have an enjoyable time and the welfare of both property and customer is maintained.
From the initial briefing where the Skipper sets the standards, to the social activities, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm will need to be delivered. By maintaining the standards, the Skipper will lead by example and demonstrate the standards of seamanship, crew management and performance at all times.
Main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call. Working hours vary and you MUST be flexible to cover operational requirements. You may at times be required to assist with other flotillas either as a Skipper or Engineer or to work as a Bareboat Skipper.
You will be a RYA Yachtmaster / Coastal Skipper with Commercial Endorsement or equivalent.
You will need excellent customer skills as well as capability to work on and offshore creating a fun and relaxing environment.
Able to work under pressure and take difficult decisions you will be sociable and have a positive personality.
Ideally you will have experience in a customer focussed environment with strong organisational skills.
